When Lynas was at it's peak short selling was still vigorous - 11.6% of shares sold on 21 April 2011, for example.

So it's been going on all the time. The only way it would affect the SP is if it increased, pushing the price down a tiny bit, or decreased, pushing it up.
But if the company wasn't a sitting duck for short sellers, you wouldn't have to worry about it. All those failed promises from that one Nick Curtis, 10% of world REE market share by 2004 ...... etc. etc. etc. just make it a shorter's dream.
