I think you're quite right. HIE already has a very well established identification and rating protocol that is used in all hospitals. I suspect once approved it would within a year or two end up with a 90%+ penetration rate. It would be totally different from neurodevelopment disorders. HIE is still fatal for many babies - if you were a doctor or parent facing death or permanent disability for your newborn baby would you hesitate before trying NNZ-2591?
With HIE you don't have time to weigh the pros and cons or wait for a better treatment. Its an emergency that needs immediate action.
