However this HIE has brought me out of the woodwork. I’ve followed bits and pieces and it hit me. Is this possibly the greatest genius masterstroke of JP and Neuren? We followed years ago the unsuccessful attempt at treating TBI (incredibly low dose I believe was the main reason) but also not an easy trial design in such variable severities of cases and variabilities of presentations.
Could a successful HIE trial and drug registration be the ‘back door’ into the treatment of TBI, stroke and all the other hypoxic related brain pathologies?
By having an approved drug on the market could this path alter the way we finally achieve the holy grail of the ‘Aspirin for the Brain’
As the discussion mentions, I’ll be fascinated to see the trial design and at the same time am buoyed by Neuren’s ability to use much higher doses than many years ago.
