Transurban understands that the proposal of the successful consortium was preferred on the basis of price and contractual terms. The price and contractual terms bid by the Combitech AB consortium would have enabled Transurban to achieve a suitable profit margin whilst containing its risk exposure to the project. In accordance with Transurban’s accounting policy, bid costs of approximately $350,000, which were capitalised in the year ended 30 June 2004 will be written off to expense in the year ended 30 June 2005.
