Hello theantipodean, I have been following your plight over here at ANZ/opes threads.. I am not involved or very knowledgable.. I just like researching... The timing of 'Beneficial ownership' and more importantly the timing of Substantial ownership of many companies shares interests me. ANZ appears not to have lodged these SSH notices and argued that they had a wiaver in place..
My interest is in the black tuesday 70% SP drop of MFS in January...and then continued halt to trade..
You can see why this might effect brokers..??
ANZ have lodged a substantial SH notice at MFS now called OCV recently.. but I am interested in what that holding may have been days before the SP drop ? if it was not declared...as they thought they had a waiver in place...
100 million MFS shares traded and because of the halt to trade we have only had one sudstantial holder make an announcement re a change of holding...ANZ with limited information.
OPES did hold MFS and MFSG according to one HC posters list.
The recent revelation that ANZ only took ownership in the dying days after the 95 mil request from ANZ goes counter to my thoughts.

Could preceedng events be considered then.. The NON disclosure of Substantial holdings in other companies before the closure of OPES may never be uncovered??
