Hi,just thought i would let shareholders know of problems with the mooring wires on the Maari FSPO the Raroa.The mooring lines consist of wire from ship then chain then wire then chain back to an anchor pile driven into the seabed.from memory there are about 9 of these mooring lines in a 360 degree spread.The problem is where the first wire that leaves the vessel and joins the first section of chain.this connection or socket in a rough sea smashes into the seabed,and has caused bird cageing in the wire section of the joint,ie the wire has spread apart.not good news.and expensive to fix.
