Just got a very good email from Eytan, he answered very well my concerns regarding air temperature in particular the freezing cold winters of Northern China and any impact this may have on MABR. I know there have been a few questions raised in relation to air temperature and MABR here on HC also.
Firstly waste water is always warmer than ambient temperature, due to hot showers, dish washers, washing machines etc, Eytan said its rare to see waste water temperature going below 12c even in very cold climates. All plants are designed to be able to handle the minimum waste water temperature and are designed as such. The plastic components of the MABR plant which are exposed to the low ambient temperatures are not affected by the air temperature, just like plastic containers aren't affected inside a freezer....
So in a nut shell cold climates aren't an issue for MABR.
Cheers
