"Kalahari Minerals plc, the AIM listed mining exploration group with a portfolio of uranium, copper and base metal interests in Namibia, announces the appointment of Mr. Neil MacLachlan as Non-executive Director of the Company with immediate effect. Mr. MacLachlan, aged 66, also holds a Non-executive Director position at Extract Resources Limited ('Extract'), in which the Company's subsidiary, Kalahari Uranium Limited, holds a 39.74% interest. His appointment is designed to further strengthen the relationship between Kalahari and Extract, as the two companies work together to ensure shareholders receive maximum value from Extract's world class Husab uranium project in Namibia..."

There's an "interesting" footnote:

"Following the appointment of Mr. MacLachlan and the appointment of Mr. de Jongh Weill and resignation of Mr. Galloway as announced on 9 March 2009, the majority of the directors are now resident in the United Kingdom. Consequently, the Company is managed and controlled within the UK and the Takeover Panel on Takeovers and Mergers has confirmed that the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers now applies."

Wonder why they would happen to mention that? ;0) [Under the Code an offer is compulsory if any s/h increases beyond 29.9% ownership]

I'll just mention that MacLachlan was at last year's Kalahari AGM, representing Extract.
