MACQUARIE downgrades APX to Underperform from Neutral, page-111

I have cut my losses on Appen to offset capital gains from major winners, particularly ASX:QPM, for tax purposes.

I think the medium-term future of APX is unclear, and that sentiment is a key driver, which I don't want to fight against. If the tide ever turns (with respect to fundamental structural issues around SSL etc, investor sentiment & company financials), I may re-invest for the turnaround. Those of us who are following this closely will be well placed to do so, but that time may or may not come.

This stock was a major learning experience for me and a mistake. But, each mistake teaches you something new about yourself and the markets. I'm grateful for this experience and I'm going to become a better investor off the back of it. For those staying the course, best of luck. I will be watching the H2 CY21 update in February closely for clues as to how Appen is performing and how management expects CY22 (and beyond) to play out.
