Macquarie May Top OZ Minerals Pact With Minmetals, Review Says

June 10 (Bloomberg) -- Macquarie Group Ltd. may offer OZ Minerals Ltd. a A$1.4 billion ($1.1 billion) share placement and rights proposal to block the miner’s agreed $1.2 billion asset sale to China Minmetals Group, the Australian Financial Review said.
Macquarie’s proposal, which it hopes to put to the OZ Minerals board today, is strongly supported by some of the miner’s shareholders, the Review reported, without saying where it got the information.
The offer includes a placement and rights issue involving new investors that weren’t identified, the report said.
