Hi Aussie, agree with your views. A comparison of Minmetals versus Macquarie needs to account for the fact that they will be getting a slice of the wealthy Prominent Hill whereas this will be at foot for OZ holders if the Chinese deal goes through.

That said, the Macquarie offer is worthy of consideration but IF and only IF a clear case is made that there is better value for the OZ shareholders. I have not read a comparative analysis as yet. Macquarie have stated that the Minmetals deal is a 44% discount. Obviously there will be some discount in thier offer also. Let them tell us what it is.
