In doing technical analysis, I find that I used to lose almost every time when I used “patterns” like head and Shoulders, cup handle, bull flag etc…..I think with that method it’s very easy to see the pattern that you want to see…that’s why it never worked for me. So, I follow a non interpreted trend following method and my success rate changed dramatically to 60-70% so that I am consistently improving my portfolio position over the last 2 years……..but the last two years have also been a phenomenal bull market, so the outcome may have nothing to do with technical analysis….only time will tell if I am able to preserve capital during the next down turn using TA.
