INCITEC Pivot has revived shelved plans to build a $1 billion explosives plant on Western Australia's Burrup Peninsula, as it looks to tap into growing demand for the Pilbara region's vast iron ore reserves.
A spokesman for the Melbourne-based fertiliser and explosives maker said a pre-feasibility study had begun on a 350,000-tonnes-a-year ammonium nitrate plant.
