Interesting view from Macquarie this week, especially in light of increasing rumblings about a global downturn. This is for the US cinema industry, but it should apply here as well.

The 2025 slate of movies scheduled to be released doesn't actually look too bad. We have to name several

    Minecraft movie
    Superman
    Avatar 3
Mission Impossible - Final Reckoning (last MI film for Tom Cruise)
Fantastic Four (new marvel movie franchise)
    Jurassic World Rebirth
How to Train your Dragon sequel
    Lilo and Stitch sequel
    Zootopia 2
    Final Destination sequel

If Macquarie is right, and people 'trade down' their spend on entertainment in tough times by going to the movies instead of going on a holiday, EVT's cinemas business may not have as bad a year as expected.
