It's overall all it's a huge play. HBOS are supposedly after 10 billion + for Bankwest but considering they are struggling for cash overseas that may come down and considering bankwest's structure they will need to. Thatis because Bankwest at present may not be too profitable. Its loan books are being written at extremely low profit margins. Especially its business banking. Also they rely so heavily on broker introduced business you may find that a lot of that may be churned after a couple of years.

Suncorp is currently cap is 14.3b. I think they would only get it for 20b? which would value their shares 20.5 or there abouts. Just wondering how how much of that would be cash and how much would be script? I think Suncorp future is bright without a takeover so at least personally I wouldnt vote for it unless the $$$ right up there.
