his new place in Gladstone is for electrodes, articles give the impression its for the H2 production itself, but he needs some sort of H2O source for that, and I saw a FMG rep say seawater is preferred. Even 'fresh water' needs purifying. Articles indicate its cheaper/more pragmatic to use osmotic desalination first then let rip with the electrolysis. Then he seems to be turning that H2 into NH4 to transport it and then reversing things at the destination to produce H2.
What type of electrodes he uses I can't find. However, in articles about H2 use in car fuel cells etc the purity of the H2 is critical, and the unique nature of Pd to do that job seems a tough job for substitutes to get around.
