What worries me is Beattie's strong opposition to uranium in attempt to keep the coal industry going.
......Mr Beattie said it was important to protect the coal industry and he would not change his views on uranium mining.
"I don't support uranium mining of Queensland's resource because it would undermine the coal industry," the premier said.
"There's a lot of teachers, a lot of doctors, a lot of nurses, a lot of Queenslanders who everyday benefit from the coal industry."
Mr Beattie said that by allowing uranium mining to expand, the coal industry would be compromised.
