For the newbies who want to know why EAF is pressing ahead and working hard on obtaining access to Madaba:

The Madaba Project consists of 23 tenements covering 4,760 km2 in the south-east of Tanzania. These tenements are highly prospective for U-in-sandstone mineralization. Work carried out between1979-82 by Uranerzbergbau GmbH identified six anomalous uranium zones.

The geologist who worked for UranerzGmbH in that time is the current consultant geo for EAF- "In 1979 to 1981 Dr Drake-Brockman participated in the initial exploration of Mantra Resources’ Nyota project, as well as EAF’s Madaba project, while working for Uranerzberbau GmbH. He gained additional knowledge on the Karroo Set while working for the Western Metals-Uranium Resources JV in the Mkuju region from 2006 to 2009. Dr Drake-Brockman’s overall uranium experience, his knowledge of EAF’s target model for Mkuju, and his specific involvement in the project area make him the ideal person to direct EAF’s exploration team."

Back to Madaba, cumulatively a strike length of approximately 30 km has been identified as being anomalous.

    Best down-hole intercepts from the historical drilling were 4m @1082 ppm; 7m @ 693 ppm & 11.7m @ 400 ppm U3O8.

    Read that again.

Thirty holes from a total of 84 holes were mineralized (better than 1m at 165 ppm U3O8). The drilling included; diamond core drilling (10 holes), rotary mud (13) and rotary percussion (61).

As mentioned the project is in abeyance pending negotiations with the Tanzanian Government regarding exploration access to the Selous Game Reserve.

Will they be successful and gaining access? Well at this point it's worth noting that our Country Manager in Tanzania is Mr James Sullivan - An ex-Mantra man (also ex-AngloGold Ashanti) - he's been there and done that.

Given the Tanzanians are pro-mining, and precedents have been set by our friends at Mantra (as well as just about every other currently developed mining project in a 3rd world country), and given that no one actually lives in the Selous and the entire reserve is basically one big hunting ground - surely obtaining access will be less a question of 'if' than 'when'.

My money is on EAF getting the green light at Madaba.

Having said all that, the Koreans are in the process of investing over $3m in the Eastern Rift projects - results due any day now on the first third of the drilling - might make for nice icing or end up being a company maker in its own right.

It's a big question mark. But that's the best part about resource investing - 'not the history but the mystery'. My money is on the mystery being worth a lot more than $4m - Especially when Mantra was sold for over a billion. Time will tell, so do your due diligence before time tells everyone else!
