I can see a mirror image in last few months of that graph (shorts go high when sp goes low & vice versa). Does that mean that shorting has caused the drop in SP, or is it that sellers cause drop in SP and the shorting is merely a corollary? A lot to learn here, but I find it interesting, even more so when some of my super is on the line.

was reading this in investopedia... "An increasing level of short interest over the months may indicate growing bearishness towards the stock. But at some point, very high short interest in a stock is viewed as a contrarian indicator, based on the notion that all those short positions will eventually have to be covered, which would presumably drive up the stock price".
