They got "some" money back but not much.
They stripped his personal assets, including lots of property. His wife had $80m which she claimed she earned - they left her with $2.5m. I think from memory there was a billion odd left in the funds which should have been 60b.
Some investors would have been receiving dividends all along (from newbies input) so it's hard to work out what the overall real loss was.
