What is needed for EVs is Clean inexpensive electric power when compared to Petrol. We can only get that with major changes to the Grid and what puts power on the grid. The government could accelerate that by putting large carbon taxes on Petrol. Then question becomes should not the same tax be put on all fuels by carbon content burned for electric? In which case we are in the same place. I do want to see a carbon tax. It will help EVs by accelerating Clean cheep Electric. It will be painful for all of us in the interim but we need change. Seldom does major change occur without some pain.
