Yes Pat I was aware that negotiations were underway re Bouganville and I hope they succeed as the natives could benefit from its reopening as would the shareholders.
My understanding is that it would virtually be a start from scratch operation so , if the agreement is signed, it would take some time to get the operation up and running.
People talk of sovereign risk and Australia has been spoken of as carrying some. As shareholders, we are far better placed in having mining at Cloncurry than in a foreign country where the laws can be flouted and armed combat occur as happened when Bouganville was closed down.
Bouganville has a great copper resource and let's hope mining resumes , lessons have been learnt, and the earlier conflict does not recur.
