Now only 110 days to commissioning of the crushing plant.

    stillthefoxhat,

The weekend papers are full of dire predictionns regarding how the falling price of iron ore is affecting the majors BHP and RIO which are still profitable but less so at the current iron ore price .

Fortescue, it is claimed, is close to just being above the breakeven point and Atlas Iron is in negativite territory.

The papers point out that there will be a downgrade of all of their profits and Fortescue has hugh debt obligations. It is not a pretty picture for them and ,as I pointed out in an earlier post, a difficult situation for an up and coming producer to find a market in an over supply situation.

Let us hope there is a turn around and Chinese demand improves. This ,from all accounts, is going to take time.

This downturn in iron ore demand is happening now. Think of the consequences if the expansions in production had gone ahead and this happened then.

What we have in iron ore and coal are massive deposits worldwide [infinite] and a demand [ finite].

There has been no talk in the newspapers on copper as there has been for iron ore and coal.

There have been reports of declining copper grades and the need to rely on scrap to meet the shortfall. Copper is in an entirely different situation to which the iron ore and coal producers find themselves.

You make reference to the over exuberance of conix in predicting the future share price.

Some people were carried away with the possibility of what share price CDU might achieve. Sensible investors would have taken çonix's prediction as wishful euphoria as I did.

What I am looking for is a dividend of 10 cents a share and have said so on a number of occasions over the years. This would give me a good return on my shares in CDU .

This should be achievable on a copper price of $2 a pound and based on the 3 million tonne yearly throughput.

The current copper price remains around the $7,500 dollars a tonne mark and, will have to retreat a long way, before CDU becomes unprofitable.

YES I do remain optimistic on CDU for many reasons.
======================================I believe there will be some very embarrassed journos and others and very happy shareholders when the first production starts and that's another day closer.
