This Youtube video below is an important watch for Magnis investors as it highlights that EV manufacturers are now moving away from the NCA (Lithium, Nickel, Cobalt Oxide and Aluminium) NMC (Lithium, Nickel, Cobalt Oxide and Manganese) chemistries toward the more stable LFP based chemistry (including BM-LMP)
Magnis and Imperium3 are heading down the right track of developing the next generation of LFP based chemistries as this is precisely what customers are looking for now given the spate of recent NMC/NCA fires for a few different car manufacturers. This to me helps explain the strong interest in Im3 cells now exceeding AUD$1B in binding offtakes.
Even Musk himself states he would prefer to drive a carwith FLP based cells than NCM/NCA.
The Magnis/Imperium3/C4V cell chemistry of BM-LMP (bio-mineralized lithium mixed-metal phosphate) is a derivative of LFP which improves on it in every metric. See below table:
With BM-LMP you get the thermal stability and fire safety of LFP with the power output and capacity exceeding NCA and almost matching that of NMC!
