Pretty sure they stated that where any information was provided, it was either general in nature or did not impact the share price and therefore did not meet the materiality threshold as defined in the Corporations Act.
Whilst I do not agree with directors disclosing or suggesting information that is not publicly available, it is up to individuals to ensure they do not trade in response to becoming aware of that information.
If a director of a company tells you some information not disclosed to the market and you trade based on that, the director is not involved in insider trading...you are.
