Well my understanding of collateral and Mahatir's are completely different. Collateral damage occurs when someone or thing is targeted and some innocent bystanders who are not being targeted, are killed. The Bali victims were deliberately targeted That is not collateral damage but deliberate murder. As others have said, the accidental deaths of innocents in Afghanistan etc are much to be regretted and they were definitely not targeted like the Australians were in Bali.

With regard to his comment:- "It is no longer just a war against terrorism, it is in fact a war to dominate the world, ie, the chromatically different world," he said.

Hmmmm, how come all those chromatically different people are voting with their feet to show who they think have the right solutions?

Mahatir is a twisted man hung up on the colonial past who, while he might be smart and who has done good things for his country, forgets who died to keep his country free from communism. You'd think there might be some thanks for it.
