I can see a similar question was posted in April and did not receive a reply. Therefore asking may be a waste of time, but the question can't be answered if not asked - and here goes.

I am interested and probably along with countless others, in the maiden dividend that Coles will declare in Aug or September this year.
I have done some research and can see that the company is doing ‘quite well,’ but has to face a great deal of capital expenditure - and I am wondering how this impacts on the question of the dividend.
I would imagine that the company is compelled to pay at least a nominal dividend and if so how low could that be, and just as interested in any opinions of others if this 'thought', is considered to be too simplistic and incorrect. All and any input would be appreciated.
