Collingwood's spin and handling of the Didak case was disgusting. This was clearly a case where football took precedence over everything else. Malthouse, Pert and McGuire were so hypocritical it beggars belief. Remember Pert spinning the story, giving an explanation from his perspective of the night's events, then telling journos he couldn't comment becasue it was a police matter! Eddie sounded more morally outraged about Brisbanes' salery cap concessions than this stuff.
Seriously I was ashamed to be an AFL fan as a took in Collingwood's responses. They put the a game before anything else proving the adage to themselves that 'sport isn't about life and death it is more serious than that'.
The AFL drug policy is the ONLY elite sporting competition in the world that tests out of competition for illicit (non peformance enahancing) drugs. They should be commended for that.
If found positive a third time the maximum sanction is a 12 week suspension compare that to what Cousins got for no positive test. At least he was punished which is what he deserved and rehabbed which is what he needed. The team and the fans also suffered.
