You’re right.
Downer was previously awarded 300m from NBN to eliminate copper wire networks across Australia interstate.
UWL has been lobbying bids to buy OPT but I think SSM should be a better choice given the decision from NBN
UWL and OPT provide FTTP services in new estate developments whereas SSM is providing FTTP connections to the established houses from the old copper wire infrastructure.
There are millions and millions of houses without the FTTP
FTTP will improve the speed at cheaper costs in light of the availability and competitively from IP providers.
I have FTTC and I experienced so many network outages and unreliable speed regardless what plans I bought from different IP providers.
FTTP is the only solution and I can go back the the cheapest plan at a 20-25 Mbps
The government knew it and It wanted to create jobs so let SSM be a good player in this game.
