YOU’RE DEALING, REALLY, WITH REAL EVIL, TODAY--NOT PETTY - - CORRUPTION--
“How do you get someone to stop being complacent, and step up to plate and say, ‘This is affecting me. I’m getting involved’?”]
LAROUCHE: There’s no easy answer to that, but there is a point of water coming to a boil. In social processes, the so-called argument alone doesn’t work because people are operating on certain axiomatic-like assumptions--rules of thumb. They say, “I’m not going to get involved. I’m not going to get involved.” So therefore, they give you the sales objection argument: “Well--it’s not going to happen to me. I’m not worried about this.” Of course they’re worried about it! But they’re in a state of denial, because they {don’t} want to become involved. They think they might get into trouble. They don’t want to be lone victim out there, that somebody’s going to pick on them. They’re going lose their job, they’re going to lose this, they’re going to get into trouble with this, trouble with that. They’re afraid of the politicians. They’re afraid the politician’ll put a word in with someone, and they find their family’s in trouble, because somebody says, “Get him! Get him!” you know.
So what happens, the way these things work, it works like the thing coming to a boil. The water isn’t boiling; it’s swelling up a little bit, but it’s not boiling. No steam coming off. But the temperature’s rising. Then, as it approaches a boil, then you have a phase-change in the situation.
And when you’re dealing in politics the way I deal with it, and I’ve had a lot of experience over many years with this kind of thing, because of my age alone, and becuase of the kinds of things I do--I make a lot of trouble, and therefore, I got the best answer on how this stuff goes. I’ve been there: I’m the worst troublemaker in the neighborhood, and therefore I know how it works, from experience.
That you have to take the right course. But you’re not dealing with a mechanical process, where you can predict. Because you’re dealing with the human mind. You’re not an animal, you’re not reacting like an animal reacts. The human mind is a very complicated process. And you don’t know exactly at what point something’s going to click with the other guy. How it’s going to spread in the population, you don’t know. So you have to take, as I do, take the right course, stick to it. And let the process show you, when they’re ready to act, and get the job done.
And what you do, is, like you run around a lot. When they come after you, you maneuver, move to one side. When you get a chance to attack and get your kick in, get it in. And when they react, you’re gone by the time they get wound up to reacting. And you stay and keep that process going.
Until the critical point comes, because we’re right. We’re talking about justice for human beings. And the typical American has a stronger sense of justice than the European does. Because we’re not an oligarchical society. We don’t have this oligarchical idea that this guy is Count So-and-So, and this guy is Baron So-and-So, or Prince This, or Duke That. We don’t believe that. It’s just not American. We have a few i diots who think that, but we don’t.
So therefore, with us, the sense of rightness, of justice, is extremely important. And people will put up with all kinds of things, until they think that their people are ready to move! And when people think that their people are ready to move, and therefore what happens is, you will see in strike situations for example--who leads in a strike situation? The agitator. When there’s not a strike situation, people shun him. It’s the agitator, and you keep him around in case you want to have an agitator on hand.
So, you have to be patient with the process. And, you know, in warfare or in great crises, which is my specialty, you operate on a different scale. You operate on the scale of immortality: You take the view that--well, I’m living today and I’m doing this. “Well, are you sure it’s going to happen in your lifetime?” Well, I’m not going to be sure. How can I be sure? But, can I be sure that what I’m doing will not be lost in the process, so that somebody in {their} lifetime will benefit from what I’m doing now? Therefore, you have to find your identity not in success per se, but in the process: Are you for human beings?
You know, most of us come from families which had great suffering in their past, one way or the other. How do we look at that? We are the beneficiaries of their suffering, of their putting up with something. We’re now able to do things that they couldn’t do. But they’re important to us, because they made this possible! So you have to locate your identity in what you’re doing for mankind, because when you’re dead, you want to make sure your life was not a waste. And you don’t measure that in terms of accomplishments, in terms of things you can take away as trophies. You measure that in terms, are you contributing to a process which is making the condition of the human race better?
And so, with the American, to the extent the typical American who’s a decent person, thinks in terms of these matters, {in terms of justice. If it’s just, it’s right. If it’s just, it should happen.}
And if you’re confident you have a just cause, and you’re fighting against an injustice, you know that continuing that fight, in itself, is a purpose. With a gambler, he wants to walk away with a winning. But the gambler is not a moral person. The person who is not a gambler, doesn’t want to waste his life. The gambler is afraid of losing his money. The intelligent person, doesn’t want to lose the purpose of their life, and therefore, they do things.
I mean, you do things, not because you’re going to get a reward. You do things because it’s right. You help people because it’s right, not because you get a reward. And when you know you’re doing it not for a reward, but because it’s the right thing to do, and you find other people who recognize that that’s true, you get a sense of justice. And it’s the most powerful thing you can have on your side, is a shared sense of justice among people. Doesn’t mean you can win right away: But it means you’re on the right road to victory.
What happens if this whole nation were to disappear, and everything that it stood for were to vanish? Isn’t that the worst thing?
That’s the point. We’re part of the human race. We care. And we take pride in being people who need not be ashamed of our commitment to justice. The thing is, what is the right course to follow? Not how do we get victory? Yes, victory--I’m great on victory! I like it, I love it! {But!} My motive is not just victory: My motive is to do the right thing, knowing that I might not be able to do the job myself, but I’m going to contribute, so somebody else can.
It’s like a teacher. A good teacher, in a school. They measure their accomplishment, not by what they accomplish in the school, but what is the result of their teaching.
Take this case of this question of overseas, the money going overseas: Well, you got two problems here. First of all, the Republican Party is instinctively corrupt. The Democrats have to think about it. So that, but where this money is going otherwise, it’s going for a transformation--take the ratio from the Desert Storm to this operation in Iraq now: What is the ratio of civilians to military in the operation? And why? The civilian part includes, predominantly, Halliburton. Halliburton is the firm of D ick Cheney. Halliburton is part of the syndicate of George Shultz, who’s the number-one fascist on the West Coast of the United States, the former Secretary of State in the 1980s.
Well, what’s really going on? It’s not just corruption. It’s worse than corruption: It’s fascism. What is being done, is part of the policy--and look at the soldiers, look at the condition of the returning soldiers, look at the soldiers who have been wounded who aren’t getting the medical treatment they require. Look at those who are being mistreated, in many ways, as they return. Look at the number of National Guard units which are being recycled, repeatedly, back into--and they’re weekend warriors! They’re trained for this kind of operation!
And they’re needed here, in the United States, where they perform essential functions on the state level. Including national disaster, local disaster, that sort of thing; they’re an integral part of it, part of our resources. What happened, for example, in the case of Katrina in the Southern states? The National Guard was out of the country! In Iraq, when it should have been there, for that operation. So they’re just being gobbled up.
Now, what’s happening? But the money is going to where? Halliburton! Eleven to twelve billion dollars! What’s Halliburton? Well, Halliburton has taken over, with others, the financing of operations which were formerly part of the regular military, the engineering and related support functions. They stripped out all the essentially military structure, and reduced it, and they take the remaining regular military and others, and they run them into the ground.
So, you have two sides. You have the money is going into the corporations. What’s the philosophy? Shultz and, your dear friend, here: Felix. Filthy Felix. What’s their policy: The policy is, eliminate the military, that is, eliminate the government’s military, and turn the job over to a {private military}! What’s that part of? Well, that’s part of eliminate the nation-state. That’s the objective.
So, if you eliminate the government, who’s going to run the military? Well, private organizations’ll run the military! Who are the private organizations? Well, look at Halliburton! Halliburton’s a part of a financial syndicate operation. So, international conglomerates, transnational conglomerates, financial conglomerates, will run the military, which do the enforcing.
What do you got? You got a Roman Empire. Called globalization. {That’s} the real corruption.
The corruption of money passing one way or the other, that is ordinary corruption. {This is Satanic.} It’s not sinful: It’s Satanic.
And it’s not a matter of, you know--they use this, of course, to manipulate politics. But the real purpose is Satanic. Anyway, going back to the W hore of Babylon! Destroy the nation-state, destroy representative government. Turn the world over to control of large conglomerates, financial conglomerates.
Take the functions of enforcement, you have teams--like for example, take this guy, Zarqawi, who was shot down in murder. Now, suppose the power of military force and government is turned over to private organizations? If {you} offend the institutions of banking, of finance--they shoot you! They spot you from a satellite: And they bring it down on {you}!
Why? Because you’re convicted, or something? No. Because they don’t like you.
See, you’re looking at tyranny, real tyranny! You’re looking at the destruction of civilization. And that’s what we have to get our people to understand! We’re not fighting corruption! Corruption is a good, old American practice, these days. Corruption is, you know, when you have a period, you can’t count the number of wives you’ve had, or the number of husbands you’ve had, or which child belongs to which parent, in which combination? The whole society is falling apart! It has been falling apart, with this generation.
What you have to look at, is the {real} threat, the really Satanic threat. And that is, that the protection of the sovereign nation-state, under which you, as a citizen, have {rights}, even if they’re abused and betrayed--they exist, they’re recognized. Imagine taking those rights completely away! They can kill any of you! Nothing you can do about it! It’s their choice. Which government are you going to go to? There {is} no government. They {are} the government! Felix Rohatyn’s friends {are} the government! A private organization, they can shoot you down, any time they want to; torture you, whatever they want to do. {Render you}, in someplace where somebody {will} torture you to death. Your family won’t know where you went.
{That’s the corruption!}
And what you’re seeing in the abuse of the military, who are in service in Iraq--which is disgusting and evil--what you’re seeing is simply a {symptom of a far greater evil.} And Felix Rohatyn is {typical}, with George Shultz, of that evil. Cheney is only a flunky in this process, even though he’s the Vice President; he’s the Vice President in Charge of Vice.
But the real evil is not the petty, personal kind of cheap kind of shot, political corruption. The corruption, here, is Satanic: Destroying government, which is the guarantee of the right of people. Where do you go to? Who represents you? Who protects your rights? Government! If government is taken away from you, that is real government, government by the people, you have no rights. You can be shot down, just because somebody doesn’t like you. And nobody can do a damned thing about it. That’s the real corruption. And {that’s} what the corruption is! With this Halliburton money, going into $11 billion plus, just to Halliburton alone.
That’s what we’ve got to stop. And people have to understand the {evil} that we’re fighting against. This is {not} a case of local corruption! This is not a case--. What we’re dealing with with the local corruption, like the abuse in the question of Delphi, what we’re dealing with, is essentially a {symptom}, of a far more profound and deadly degeneration of our system of government, of the very idea of government. And if we don’t stop it, soon--as I said today, you’re going to have a world population of very quickly, less than 1 billion people, from over 6 billion today.
And you’ll have situation where people don’t have families. You’ll have children wandering around being adopted, or not adopted, by whoever picks them up. That’s the kind of society we’re headed for. You have a vastly migrant populations around the world, moving around, dying. Migrating from one place to another, trying to find some work and get some money to survive.
We’ll looking at Hell. Unless we stop it.
And look at the corruption, behind the corruption, behind the corruption. Then you see the face of the enemy.
Look at this: We’re talking about Africa! Look at--we have the better part a whole continent, is being subjected to genocide! The genocide was officially launched by Henry Kissinger, in 1974! With this policy. We need to do something about that. Look what’s happening, the murder, the mass murder, today! Do you think that all the diseases in Africa are natural causes? Don’t you think that somebody stuck something in there? A little enhancement? Of HIV problems and so forth, because they wanted to reduce the population? {It is their policy}, to reduce the population of Sub-Saharan Africa! And it’s happening! And it’s happening by known methods. It’s happening as a matter of policy: I know if from our friends in Rwanda, and places like that, where the genocide has gone on! It’s been {done} under--it was done even under the Clinton Administration, by some of the people in the State Department: Were running a pro-genocidal policy, together with people in some various countries there. Murder! The whole Rwanda case, a complete fraud!
{You’re dealing, really, with real evil, today.} Not petty corruption.
And it’s only when you realize that you’re trying to defend the human race against evil, {then}, and you get that idea across to people to understand that’s what we’re fighting, then you’re going to find some real guts among the people. People tend to put up with what they think they can put up with. And don’t put themselves at risk, because they think they can put up with that. When they realize they {can’t} put up with it, then their attitude changes.
That’s when you reach the boiling point. And we’re getting close to the boiling point, now.
