SkyNetGlobal’s W Home network currently connects to 15 large residential buildings and 1 large commercial building, and is the first company in Australia to offer innovative telecommunication services via powerline. The company has presently signed exclusive powerline access agreements with 51 buildings covering more than 10,000 homes. 8 more large buildings will be connected by 7 July 2004, with many more to rapidly follow. SkyNetGlobal CEO Jonathan Soon said: “This is a significant milestone for the company as we have been cautious with our rollout plans while working with the ACA towards the required permission. To date we have been operating with a tacit approval from the ACA. The formal ACA permission will now pave the way for us to execute our plan to achieve a national coverage of 500 buildings over the next 24 months covering 100,000 apartments.” “Based on the current average subscriber take up rate per building of close to 20%, we expect to achieve 20,0000 subscribers by end of 2006, generating approximately $1 million per month in broadband internet services revenue only. In addition to broadband internet, we also plan to offer IP telephony (VOIP) and video on demand, providing residents in W Home buildings with the ability to instantly hire a latest release movie over the powerline.” ABOUT SKYNETGLOBAL Listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX: SKG) and headquartered in Sydney, SkyNetGlobal is a leading innovator of wireless broadband solutions specialising in 802.11 wireless (WiFi) & Home Plug powerline technologies.
