Major Inaccuracies in FNArena Report – On Purpose?

Yes, you’ve probably seen it – it’s making the rounds today. Quite a very anti-Lynas but pro-Molycorp article from FnArena. Amazing timing – after Molycorp shedding over 25% of its share price in just one day due to poor earnings, higher costs and new fund raising requirements.

Yet this analyst goes on to attack Molycorp’s nearest rival company – Lynas Corp. There are numerous inaccuracies within his report, including that Crown polymetallic resource was NOT sold – in fact Lynas still owns this massive and very valuable resource. Numerous other items of wordplay and incorrect assertions are made regarding the plants history and its current stage of development. Lynas is in full-swing to complete phase 2, which is being funded via the Japanese government.

The analyst then proceeds to provide a low opinion on the share price, whilst doubling that of Molycorp. We note that it is Molycorp that needs a capital raising, is experiencing massively higher costs than prior investor presentations have shown, progress appears slower, etc.

The analyst’s opinion is not worth the text he has written, is completely biased, is factually incorrect in almost every section, that it is just so difficult to take him seriously.
