    Hey all, IT Professional chiming in here.Yeah it's funny many enterprise level organisations are rushing to implement SaaS and Cloud services.
    They are very quick to label any issues as experienced as being 'third party provider' issues but I don't think the risk is fully appreciated when services are selected/adopted.

    It's good to see who's running what in situations like this. I can deduce quite a bit!

    The local impact on my Friday afternoon was my nearest bottleshop was shuttered and closed because their payments system was affected. No sales at
    one of the peak demand periods during the weekly cycle.

    However, my local independent bottle-o was not impacted and was running a local low-tech point of sale operation. It's a suprisingly resilient setup during what has been labelled a 'global outage' by some IT services.

    They were doing a roaring trade as all the usual buyers were diverted to them. I'm really happy for the benefit to the local economy and independents during this small incident.
