New car charging stations to 'unlock' Australia
Forty new electric vehicle recharging points are set to unlock NSW and beyond, helping Australia keep up with the rest of the world in the electric car market.

With Australia lagging behind the rest of the rest of the world in getting onboard with electric vehicles, it is hoped 40 new recharging points across NSW will help "unlock" the nation.
NRMA announced the influx of electric vehicle recharging points on Friday as part of a $10 million investment push towards a future with zero-emission vehicles.
The phased rollout is scheduled to start in the next six months, with the first charger stations to open in Sydney, Blue Mountains, ACT, Illawarra region, the Mid North Coast and Newcastle.
It will take motorists an estimated 15-30 minutes to reboot at the "fast-charging" stations.
The stations will "unlock Australia", allowing drivers to travel further and with less stress, according to NRMA chairman Kyle Loades.
"Our research has highlighted that a lack of charging infrastructure is the single greatest barrier ... to purchasing an electric vehicle," Mr Loades said in a statement on Friday.
"There are simply not enough chargers in public places to make electric vehicles viable for longer journeys."
The announcement comes on the back of a report, The Future is Electric, highlighting the need for Australia to keep up with the rest of the world in the electric vehicle market.
The NRMA is calling on the government to create a policy for electric cars as Australia transitions from a country that no longer makes vehicles, following the closure of Holden's car assembly plant on Friday and Toyota's plant earlier this month, to one that relies on imports, Mr Loades told AAP.
"Now's the time to get on the front foot and recognise that electric cars are coming and create a policy that recognises their importance and deals with all the issues," he said on Friday.
The NRMA is hopeful local councils and community groups across the state will work with them to bring chargers to their area.
The Electric Vehicle Council estimates that while there were two million electric vehicles on the world's roads in 2016, just 1369 of those were sold in Australia.
