As somebody who has been to India on a few occasions, I have first hand experience of their power requirements. India is a nation of villages. I believe 2/3 of the population live in villages. Compare that to Aussie where 90% live in cities. The point about villages is that during daylight hours, the electricity is cut off to feed energy elsewhere. It get's very annoying if you forget to charge up your phone or laptop at night!
