I guess there are a lot of shorts (including Blue Plankton) closing out their positions today. Hopefully they have made a lot less money out of their gutter behaviour than they were expecting. Despite all of the supposed benefits of short selling you here about (mostly liquidity) I really think the world would be better off without it. I would certainly choose to invest on an exchange that forbade short selling over one that allows it.
