The CCP could nor would ever conquer Australia militarily.The CCP probably has less than 15 years of existance as a political entity left. The CCP is getting aggressive because things are falling apart internally. Whilst the chances of them invading Taiwan are higher than they have ever been, that would be their last hurrah. Done to divert the publics attention from the collapse of the country. Economically, China has already peaked. Here are a few things to consider:
1. The one child policy stayed in place for 35 years. This has set up China for a population crash. Most adults stop having children in their 30s. 2. China has the worlds largest sex imbalance. Due to cultural preference for having boys as the first born child for inheritance reasons. 3. China accidentally overcounted their population by 100 million in their last census. 4. China has the worlds fastest aging population. 5. 75% of the Chinese military are only children. 6. China doesn't have a blue water fleet. They can't operate far from the Chinese mainland in contested waters. 7. Chinese real-estate is crashing and that is realistically the only place Chinese citizens can store their wealth. The CCP can shut down companies and whole industries (see what happened to educational tutors for example) they don't like. They are limited to moving approx US$50k offshore per year so have to invest inside China. 8. Big corporations are moving their manufacturing operations out of China to countries like Vietnam and Malaysia which are cheaper to operate from and have large pools of cheap labour. They also offer a more stable regulatory environment that won't be wiped out by decree with little or no warning. 9. The Chinese covid vaccine doesn't work so the CCP are left with economically debilitating lockdowns as president Xi has decreed it.
