The definitions of "majority stake" I can find are different. For instance, from Financial Times:
Definition of majority stake or majority interest
A shareholding of more than 50 per cent of a company's equity capital.

What you're talking about can perhaps be best described as a controlling stake, but not a majority one.
I do hope you're right but, if that is indeed the case, Management should clarify that to the ASX.
