The first 50 patients with advanced follicular lymphoma were recruited in 2019 and given a combination of three drugs over six months aimed at killing off cancer cells.
While he could not yet reveal the full results of the study, Professor Cheah said most of the patients were " still in remission".
The vast majority of patients had what we call a complete response, so in other other words, they had another scan at the end of their six months of treatment and the scan showed that all of the cancer was gone, he said it certainly looks very encouraging"
The full results will be presented in December this year.
