If OCP were at all concerned about reducing the price of phosphate in the future IRRESPECTIVE OF DEMAND because they are so altruistic, we would be seeing those prices now. We aren't.
The evidence before us, i.e. $450-$500/t RP is that the Moroccans are happy to charge as much as possible, even if they can increase capacity. They are not the atruists the article paints them as.
Because it's a non renewable resource, and the global phosphate producers are a cartel in the true sense of the word, they will act in exactly the same way as the Saudis do with oil, to make the market pay whatever can be sustainably afforded.
