    I don't think the PM will revoke the proposed mining profits tax.

    he is alreayd coping flack for changing his mind on a dozen things

    ETS was super important - now delayed
    insultation scheme was super important - now abandoned
    schools building program was super important - then investigated for rorting

    If he does a backfliup on the mining profits tax it will seal his political fate.

    They may AMEND the tax proposal claiming world markets and that they are doing the right thing, but if the abandon it the opposition will have a field day - and for this reason they will stick to their guns IMHO

    (Note - I express no opinoin on the tax itself, just my ideas on whether they will stickto it/or abandon)
