"Make no mistake" ! lol
Heavy rain due to a La Nina had been occurring since October. In February an intensive monsoonal depression developed over SE Qld and NE NSW and moved southward. The strong moist NE winds meant that rainfall over a 24 hour period was the highest since recording began in 1885.
One town received 327 mm in a single day while next day falls of 200 mm in the upper Hunter were common.
FEBRUARY 2022? NO FEBRUARY 1955. THE UNUSUALLY HEAVY RAINS FELL EITHER SIDE OF THE DIVIDING RANGE AND CAUSED DISASTROUS FLOODING IN DUBBO AND GILGANDRA AND, TO THE EAST OF THE DIVIDE, MUSWELLBROOK, SINGLETON AND MAITLAND.
AND CANNON-BROOKES, FORREST, H a COURT AND VARIOUS OTHERCARPET BAGGERS WOULD HAVE US BELIEVE THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN IF WE CLOSEDOWN COAL FIRED POWER STATIONS AND EMBRACE HYDROGEN AND SOLAR AND WIND ASAP(PREFERABLY YESTERDAY).
TELL ‘EM THEY’RE DREAMIN’.
PS: The town that received 327mm was Coonabarabran. Source of this info: Wikipedia
