I think your opinions and questions are perfectly reasonable.

NCM has an MCAP of $14bn, I imagine a [currently] small project like NTL's won't be a substantial piece of information to them at this point. NCM won't announce things unless they are substantial and worthwhile. Even if they purchased NTL in its entirety, it would still not be substantial news for NCM.

NTL is a small company, I am certain that if you contact the company (Hill puts his email address and even his cell phone number on announcements) you will get a down to earth response.
