Excellent article Snooks, thanks for posting it.
Banjar seems to live in an alternate reality where terrorism is the fault of journos. Viz
"bolt seems to give a lot of credence to the words uttered by the terrorists quoting them again and again. If it wasn't for the journos the terrorists wouldn't have the world as a stage to spread whatever beliefs they have. If Bashir hadn't been interviewed recently who would know or even care about his ideas regarding nuclear weapons. I can't help comparing how the South Africans silenced Nelson Mandela for all those years, not even a photograph was allowed."
Additionally Banjar can't seem to understand that these people will keep on pursuing their goal of a world-wide Islamic Caliphate until they are stopped. Preferably with a bit of lead. :)
He also thinks that the terrorists have a point to make and we need to 'give' them something as part of some negotiation we enter into with them. What - help them set up the first Islamic state because Afganistan under the Taliban was so wonderful. Let's give them a platform for, and make it easier for them to bomb, kill and maim innocents. Ohhhh hang on a minute, Israel's done that already with Gaza...... And aren't we already negotiating with them in Iraq? Give up or we give you a bullet or 3 square meals behind razor wire. Seems fair to me. :)
"Bolt also seems to forget about any number of wars and armed conflicts that have only ended when the enemies finally got sick of the killing and sat down to negotiate a peace, part of which is each party recognising that the other side does have a point to make and each must get something out of the deal."
I'm glad I don't inhabit the alternate universe of Banjar. It's just bizarre.
