The meshes come from the photography - single capture - multiple outputs.

Context is a structure-from-motion software .. Pix4d, Agisoft, Reality Capture .. all work the same way - they create vertices (point clouds) from the overlapping image pixels (matched in 4'ish photos), the photos which have a known aerotriangulation position/pose. The points are meshed and the imagery is baked on as a texture.

This is why the spookfish cameras don't work so well for 3d - the lens properties are not known (think fax machine versus a camera). That was a while back .. they might have made progress.

Aerometrex also use Context .. but imagery refresh rate and resolution all come in it. Aerometrex fly lower with helicopters for their high end outputs. Hypercamera 3 with same flight heights and better ground resolution means better meshes that would scale.

Requires huge amounts of compute at the scale Nearmap run at. I imagine much of the 3D product could be generated on demand - but once generated the output is kept/cached.

Realistically the only thing extra versus original flying is the compute.
