EagleView was initially awarded $US125 million by a jury in September of 2019. On appeal, a federal judge in New Jersey awarded treble damages, plus pay attorney and other fees, which increased the total to circa $US400 million. I believe the judge was Robert Byron Kluger. I could not paste that link in to work, so you must fiddle with it if you want to read it.
Judge Robert Byron Kluger is a BA graduate who then studied law, so that might explain why he thinks that if calculations that are beyond the capacity of a human mind, then that is relevant to patentability.
To be pedantic, the term “prior knowledge” that I used in my previous post should have been “prior art”, which is the term used in patent law, and hence it probably has a detailed definition in legal dictionaries and in legislation. Anyhow, I have cudgelled this topic to death.
