why do you want to bottom fish? If you have been making consistent returns on price and volume you will find that the market gives you enough opportunity to get into a stock. Generally you can get in one week after volume spike and make money if a new long term trend is established. Trends up and down last for ages in good and bad stocks respectively. Just look at NEA - case in point to show down trend started almost 2 years ago.
