Had the employer paid this $16,000 that he/she was later ordered to pay by the court, the matter would never had ended up there. The court was obviously satisfied that he {the truck driver} was owed the $16,000 otherwise no order would have been made in that regard.

It is a shame that an employee has to go to all the financial expense and a very stressful experience only to get ordered by a court something that they were entitled to the first place.

A wonderful case in point emerged today in South Australia, relating to the under payment of Chinese workers on a demolition site.

This little gem, this further example of an Australian employer devoid of any scruples was made public this morning. It is, if any were needed, evidence that many Australian employers can not be trusted to behave with any ethical standards or morality, thus they can not and should not be trusted with IR laws that assist in the above regard.
