If a man or woman finds a 17 year old attractive they are considered a paedophile, according to this definition every human would be considered a paedophile at some stage. This is incorrect because there is a world of difference between attracting to a teenager which has gone through puberty vs a child which has not reached puberty. Many countries in the world have a legal age for sex at 16, some countries even 14.

A minor is a legal definition of anyone under the age 18, therefore calling them a minor is the correct terminology, it would be incorrect to label someone finding a 17 year old attractive as a paedophile the same as for someone attracted to pre pubescent humans, which our current media does.
