this news is a bit of relief...ceo got a better job to do!
Separately, Michael Simmons, who resigned as chief executive of SP Telemedia Ltd yesterday, will become the bid director for the G9 consortium of companies that are vying for the government's national broadband network (NBN) contract.
The government had a unique opportunity through the NBN to achieve structural separation of broadband network infrastructure, which would allow open and equal access for all providers, Mr Simmons said in a statement.
The G9 will announce the appointment of a chairman soon, the statement said.
The G9 comprises AAPT, iiNet, Internode, Macquarie Telecom, Optus, PowerTel, Primus, SP Telemedia which operates under the Soul brand, and TransAct.
SP Telemedia had not announced a replacement for Mr Simmons yet, a spokeswoman for the company said.
